Northern Research Basins Workshop & Symposium 18. – 22. august på Finse – meld deg på!
The 24th NRB meeting will be held in Norway from 18th to 22nd of August 2025.
NRB 2025 will be a 50 year anniversary workshop for the Northern Research Basins Workshops and Symposia. The first one was in Edfors in Sweden in 1975.
The main topic of the symposia will be: «Natural Hazards in Cold Climate Regions»
Flash floods, landslides, snow avalanches, slush flows, glacial outburst etc are expected to become more frequent as a result of a climate change and water plays a crucial role in the processe leading up to these devastating events. The strong seasonality, freezing and thawing and snow and ice influences these processes in the cold climate regions. What are the impacts and our experiences, what do we expect and how do we adresse these challenges are the background for the topic.
